Tutorial for Microsoft
Outlook Express
When you first start Outlook Express, you see a folder
list on the left and a message or contents list on the
right. In the screenshot below the Inbox is highlighted
on the left. Therefore the contents of the Inbox are
displaying on the right, in this case a welcome message.
Step 1
To setup your POP email account we will need to
be in a different area of the program. Click "Tools"
in the picture below and you will be taken to the next
step of the tutorial
Step 2
Once you click on "Tools" a menu drops down.
To setup your email we need to be in "Accounts."
Click on it in the screenshot below to continue.
Step 3
You are now in the Internet Accounts dialogue box. Click
the tab labeled "Mail" to continue
Step 4
Clicking the mail tab causes the window to filter out
everything except email accounts. Naturally, to add
your email account to the list we will want to click
the "Add" button. Go ahead and click it in
the screenshot below
Step 5
Clicking on "Add" will cause an option box
to appear. Choose "Mail" from within this
box. To continue the tutorial, click on the "Mail"
option within the screenshot
Step 6
You will now be in the Internet Connection Wizard. Enter
your name in the blank provided. Whatever you type here
will appear in the "from" line of every email
you send with your email account. Click "Next"
below to continue this tutorial.
Step 7
This is the second screen of the Connection Wizard.
Enter your email address in the space provided. To continue
this tutorial click "Next" in the picture
below
Step 8
This is the third screen of the Connection Wizard. First,
type the name for your incoming server. The name of
your incoming mail server will be mail.yourchosendomain.com
Second, enter the outgoing mail server. This is the
tricky part. The outgoing mail server is provided by
your ISP, the people who enable you to connect to the
Internet. Enter mail.yourisp.com If you do not know
the name of this server, contact your ISP.
Click "Next" in the screenshot to continue
the tutorial.
Step 9
This is the fourth screen of the Connection Wizard.
The first blank is for your username. This will be the
email address that you want Outlook Express to check.
Be sure to type the entire email address and not just
the first part of it. The second blank is for the password.
Click "Next" below to continue this tutorial.
Step 10
This is the fifth and final screen of the Connection
Wizard. We have now entered everything Outlook Express
will need to check your email account. Click "Finish"

Tutorial
for Eudora
Step 1
This is the initial screen for the adware version
of Eudora. To setup your email account first go to the
"Tools" dropdown menu. Click "Tools"
now in the screenshot below to continue this tutorial
Step 2
The screens we are looking for are in the "Options"
section. Click "Options" in the window below
to continue this tutorial.
Step 3
Categories for the Options dialogue box are listed on
the left, while in the information for each category
is displayed on the right after the category has been
highlighted. In the screenshot below, the "Getting
Started" category is highlighted on the left and
is therefore also displayed on the right. This section
stores the essential information for your account. Once
the information is entered on this screen, Eudora will
enter it in the other sections for you.
Let's go over what it is asking for. Whatever you type
for the name will appear in the From field of the emails
you send out. The return address should be your email
account. The incoming mail server will be mail.yourchosendomain.com
Type your entire email address for the Login Name.
The outgoing mail server is mildly tricky. You need
to use the server provided by your ISP, the people you
use to connect to the Internet. Type the name for their
outgoing mail server in the blank. Type mail.yourisp.com
Then click on the "Checking Mail" category
on the left. To continue this tutorial, click "Checking
Mail" in the screenshot below.
Step 4
This is where Eudora stores a few of your preferences
for checking mail. You will notice that the program
has filled in two of the entries for us, the server
and the login name. Tell Eudora how often you would
like it to check mail and whether not you wish it to
save your password. Then click on the "Incoming
Mail" category. To continue the tutorial, click
"Incoming Mail" in the screenshot below.
Step 5
This screen should be fine as is. If you wish your POP
account to store a copy of your messages on the server
make that selection here. The click "Sending Mail"
to continue
Step 6
Once again Eudora has done our work for us. The program
should have filled the email address and SMTP server
in for you already. Make sure that it did so and then
click the "OK" button
Step 7
Eudora is now configured for your email account. To
see if you have messages click the button that looks
like an envelope pointing toward a box.
You are now ready to use your Personalized
email address.
